Ephesians 1:15-23

Paul packs so much into this prayer for the Ephesians. We can use this prayer as a model for how to pray for ourselves and others. Specifically, Paul prays for 4 things for the Ephesians:

1) Hope.

2) Inheritance in the saints. But- this is God's inheritance in the saints.

3) Power.

4) Finality- In Christ Jesus under whom all things are placed.

Power. This is where God taught me the most these past couple of weeks. When I think of power, I generally think of creation- because that's where I typically think God showed the most power. Or, we think that is a very powerful thing; creating something out of nothing. In this prayer though, Paul uses the example of God raising Christ from the dead. Instead of creating something out of nothing, God created something out of death. This display of power is even greater than the creation display. And we have that power! I think back on my life and rarely see times where I utilized the great power that God has given me. I think of how my relationships, work, and school would be incredibly different if I used the power that God has given me.

Do I actually realize the power that God has given me?

Looking at the whole prayer, where does my hope, worth, and power lie, if not in God?
